In my Fall 2023 semester at the University of Colorado Boulder, I worked with a team that utilized machine learning techniques to create a model that ranks teams by position group for the 2022 season. Despite coming up with a well structured approach to the model, we only achieved a 44% accuracy when it came to predicting the NFL draft. For the spring 2024 semester, I continued to build on the model by addressing the limitations from the previous model and implementing some of my own changes to see if the draft accuracy could improve. These changes include:

• Accounting for free agency prior to the draft.

• Ranking individual players as opposed to position groupings.

• Grading individual positions within groups (i.e. offensive line is now split into interior offensive line and offensive tackle).

• A Madden like grading approach with min-max scaling of the data.

• A 2024 prospect analysis to optimize draft selections for each team.
